Oxytocina Machina

A shared XR space of connection

It is a common misconception that virtual reality isolates us from one another and the world, so Studio VRij and Zalán Szakács joined forces to prove otherwise.

Oxitocina Machina is an extraordinary shared experience that blurs the lines between reality and VR, exploring a virtual connection between strangers, who are in reality separated by a thousand miles. During the experience people who have never met develop a deep connection and release the love hormone oxytocin by playing, moving and sharing.

The installation took place during the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, MEET milano, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, V2 Rotterdam, The Library of Amsterdam and more. All of this to allow people from different countries to encounter each other in the virtual world!
